Job summary

Intermountain Healthcare Inc. in Miami, FL is seeking a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist to deliver Medical Nutrition Therapy to diverse patient populations. You will apply the Nutrition Care Process with guidance from senior clinicians and use nutrition technology to estimate needs and goals.

You will mentor dietetic interns and staff, interpret research to improve outcomes, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to update care practices. Full-time hours Mon-Fri 8am-5pm.

Qualifications

• Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
• Master's degree required for graduates after Jan 1, 2024.
• Education verification required.
• Completion of ACEND-accredited program or graduate-level competency-based program.
• State licensure or certification required; obtain within 6 months of hire.
• Ability to apply the Nutrition Care Process across patient populations.
• Ability to interpret and apply evidence-based research to practice.

Responsibilities

• Provide Medical Nutrition Therapy with moderate autonomy under supervision.
• Use Nutrition Care Process to guide complex nutrition care.
• Utilize advanced counseling techniques to influence behavior change.
• Employ nutrition-focused exam and technology to estimate needs and goals.
• Mentor new graduates, interns, and clinical staff.
• Apply research to improve patient outcomes.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to update care practices.
• Manage nutrition care across the continuum including DME order writing.
• RDN order writing privileges as per policy.

Essential Functions

• Provides Medical Nutrition Therapy to individuals with specialized health conditions and or in specialized populations.
• Uses the Nutrition Care Process to facilitate the provision of more complex nutrition care with moderate autonomy and supportive guidance from advanced practice dietitians.
• Uses advanced counseling techniques to influence behavior change.
• Uses technology in estimating needs and nutrition goals (ex: indirect calorimetry, nutrient analysis software, glucometers, etc.)
• Mentors newly graduated dietitians, dietetic interns, and clinical diet techs.
• Applies research to improve patient outcomes.
• Implements the latest evidence‑based care with the interdisciplinary team and in updating care practices/processes within the facility.
• Manages nutrition care across the continuum including durable medical equipment order writing.
• Registered Dietitian Nutritionist order writing privileges per policy/protocol.

Qualifications

• Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
• For graduates after Jan 1, 2024, completion of a minimum of a master’s degree by an accredited university.
• Education is verified.
• Completion of an ACEND accredited Didactic Program in Dietetics, Dietetic Internship, Coordinated Program, or graduate-level competency-based dietitian nutritionist program.
• State licensure or certification in accordance with the primary state of practice requirement for Registered Dietitians.
• If the primary state of practice requires licensure or certification, this must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
• Demonstrated ability to apply the Nutrition Care Process in multiple patient populations and/or disease types.
• Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply evidence-based research to clinical practice.
