General Information

The University Health Center provides a comprehensive array of health care services and health education programs to JMU students. Included in our health care services are several medical and specialty clinics, a pharmacy, a medical laboratory, and other collaborative programs that provide services for more than 30,000 patient encounters a year. UHC practices evidence-based medicine in a confidential, inclusive environment.

The Registered Dietitian Nutritionist role within the UHC offers an opportunity not only to provide on-going nutrition counseling and education to JMU students both 1:1 and in group settings, but to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for quality care and to mentor nutrition students/volunteers that are vital to nutrition clinic operations.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assessment and development of appropriate nutrition goals for college students seeking nutritional advice (70%).
  • Appropriate documentation in the patient's Electronic Health Record (15%).
  • Campus Outreach, including mentorship to internal nutrition student volunteers/staff/interns (10%).
  • Professional development in areas that will best serve the JMU student population (5%).
Qualifications

Required:

  • RDN credential (required) with preference for Master's Degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or associated Counseling or Health-Related Field
