The Registered Dietitian initiates and completes nutritional screening and assessments of all assigned patients admitted to the hospital; determines appropriateness of tube feeding or diet orders and provides recommendations to the medical staff; interprets and adjusts diet orders for kitchen staff; provides nutritional education and counseling to patients and families; provides services to residential units on a consult basis; participates in discharge planning for patients with specific nutritional concerns.
