Job summary

RiverValley Consulting Services in Owensboro, KY seeks a full-time Registered Dietitian to provide comprehensive nutritional assessments, menu planning, kitchen inspections, and education across a seven-county service area. The RD will support hospital and residential programs with nutrition guidance and compliance.

The role requires collaboration with physicians and other healthcare staff, plus opportunities to lead budgeting classes and contribute to menu development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; licensure as Registered Dietitian in Kentucky preferred.
• Experience in clinical nutrition assessments, nutrition counseling, and patient education.
• Experience in hospitals, behavioral health facilities, long-term care, outpatient clinics, or community nutrition programs.

Responsibilities

• Conduct nutritional assessments for new admissions and long-term clients.
• Inspect kitchens and food storage areas to ensure safety and compliance.
• Provide input into food preparation, service, and storage to meet federal/state guidelines.
• Perform menu reviews and spreading of menus.
• Provide cooking classes on proper nutrition for residents in RiverValley facilities.
• Communicate nutritional needs to physicians, nurses and other staff; document interactions in medical records.
• Foster collaboration among leadership, management, and program teams; perform other duties as assigned.

Job Summary: Responsible for providing services to include, but not limited to: complete nutritional assessments, provide quarterly kitchen inspections, perform menu spreading, and assist with menus as requested.

Services are provided to the following programs and affiliates in a seven-county area: Daviess, Henderson, Ohio, Webster, Union, Hancock, Mclean counties.

Essential Functions:

• Communicates with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare staff regarding the nutritional needs of patients.


• Fosters collaborative working relationships among members of the leadership and management teams and programs.


• Other duties as assigned.
