Job summary

Harris Regional Hospital in Sylva, NC is seeking a Registered Dietitian for full- and part-time positions. The role includes conducting nutrition assessments, documenting each status in the medical record, and educating patients and families on dietary needs.

You will participate in rounds, communicate changes to the care team, and assist with menu planning, diet formularies, and special diets. Experience with regulatory standards and nutrition services is valued.

Qualifications

  • Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration and licensed dietitian as required by state regulations.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nutrition & Dietetics or related field.
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards.
  • Computer experience with word processing, spreadsheets, and various software.

Responsibilities

  • Complete nutrition assessments and follow-ups.
  • Document assessment of nutritional goals and changes in medical records.
  • Educate individuals and/or families on nutritional needs.
  • Attend patient rounds on assigned floors.
  • Inform nursing and physicians of changes in nutritional status.
  • Review and approve menus, formularies, substitutions or changes.
  • Educate staff on issues regarding special diets or formulas.
  • Participate in patient/resident satisfaction programs with culinary and nutrition services.

Registered Dietitian at Harris Regional Hospital in Sylva, NC FULL & PART-TIME POSITIONS AVAILABLE

Full-Time: Starting Salary $65,000 (Negotiable based on experience)

Part-Time: Starting rate $35.00/hour (Negotiable based on experience) x 20 hrs/wk

Principal Duties & Responsibilities - Essential Functions
  • Complete nutrition assessments and follow-ups for individuals with increased nutritional needs in accordance with facility policies.
  • Document assessment of nutritional goals and/or changes in status in the medical record.
  • Educate individuals and/or their family members on nutritional needs as indicated.
  • Attend patient rounds on assigned floors.
  • Inform nursing and physicians of changes in patient/resident nutritional status.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the Clinical Nutrition Manager, Lead Clinical Dietitian, or DFNS.
  • Participate in patient/resident satisfaction programs with culinary and nutrition services.
  • Ensure processes are followed and participate in performance improvements within trouble areas.
  • Educate staff, nursing, and food service employees on issues regarding special diets or formulas.
  • Review and approve menus, formularies, substitutions, or changes.

Requirements
