Job summary

archcarecareers in New York seeks a dedicated Registered Dietitian to plan and supervise comprehensive nutrition services for individuals and groups, including clinical guidance, education, and counseling tailored to normal and therapeutic needs.

You'll evaluate nutritional status, develop and adjust care plans, document progress, collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, and guide kitchen staff on dietary needs. A NY RD license and a bachelor’s in nutrition are required.

Qualifications

• New York Registered Dietitian licensure required.

Responsibilities

• Plans, organizes, and conducts a comprehensive program of nutrition services including clinical guidance, nutrition education and counseling to meet normal and therapeutic needs.
• Evaluates nutritional status of participants using guidelines and interviewing skills to provide quality care.
• Develops and implements nutrition plans, monitors progress and revises plans for effective participant care.
• Documents changes in condition and details care provided, ensuring compliance to standards and policies.
• Coordinates with interdisciplinary team to ensure the care plan is followed and revised as needed.
• Provides nutrition counseling to participants and/or caregivers using educational materials and teaching aids.
• Oversees the work of Geriatric Caregivers in the kitchen by working with Food Services Manager to address specific dietary needs.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in food and nutrition or related field

• Evaluates nutritional status of individual participantsutilizingnutritional guidelines, professionalknowledge,and interviewing skills toprovidequality care.

• Documentschangesin the participant’s condition and details care provided by completing all required documentation and ensuring compliance to standards and policies.
• Coordinates with other members of the interdisciplinary team to ensure that the comprehensive plan of care is followed and revised as needed.
• Providesnutrition counseling to participants and/or caregiversutilizingeducational materials, modifieddiets,and teaching aids to ensure participants understanding ofthe planof care and its implications.
• Oversees the work of Geriatric Caregivers in the kitchen by working withFood ServicesManager to recommend solutionsregardingspecific dietary needs.
