Job summary

Optalis Healthcare (Health & Rehabilitation Centers) is seeking a Registered Dietitian to lead the dietary program at our facility. You will plan menus, supervise diet preparation and ensure compliance with physician orders and regulatory guidelines while coordinating with the care team.

You will interview residents or families to obtain nutrition histories, maintain records of likes and dislikes, monitor progress notes, and contribute to nutritional assessments and care planning to support

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or related field required.
• Minimum of one (1) year experience as a Dietitian in a healthcare or skilled nursing setting preferred.
• One (1) to two (2) years management/supervisory experience preferred.
• Knowledge of MDS, care planning, and clinical documentation standards.
• Knowledge of applicable federal and state regulations governing dietary and nutritional services.

Job description

Responsible for core duties of the Registered Dietician role within the organization.

• Participatesin regularly scheduled conferences including department head meetings, Resident at Risk meetingsand interdisciplinary care plan meetings.
• Provides technical guidance and administrative direction over diet planning, menu formulation,preparationand service of regular and therapeutic diets.
• Ensures menus meet resident nutritional needs, preferences, and follow physician orders and regulatory guidelines.
• Interviewsresidents or family members, as necessary, to obtain diet history.
• Participatesinmaintainingrecords of theresident’sfood likes and dislikes.
• Confirms that charted nutritionalprogress notes are informative and descriptive of the services provided and of theresident’sresponse to the service.
• Visits residents periodically to evaluatequalityof meals served, likes and dislikes, etc.
• For RegisteredDietitians with one location, they provide timely and accurate completion of nutritionalportion of MDS,CAA, Resident Care Planning, and Progress Notes as well as NutritionalAssessment, Nutritional Data Card,Diet Card andother requirements as perfacilitypolicyand proceduresto ensurecompliancewith federal and state regulations.
• Monitors weekly and monthly weights andcollaborateswith nursing personnel to makeappropriate recommendations.
• Monitors meals toensurethey provide nutritious, well-prepared, and palatable meals ina timelyand consistent manner while adhering to menus and diet orders.
• Verifyappropriate meals/snacksare served to residents with special dietary needs.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and/or Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or related fieldrequired.
• Minimum of one (1) year experience as a Dietician in a healthcare or skilled nursing setting preferred.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

• Current registrationwiththeCommission on Dietetic Registration(CDR)required.
• Must meet state licensure requirements for a Dietitian (if applicable).

Minimum Qualifications:

• Computer skills arerequired.
• Meets all state and federal criminal background check requirements.
