Elior North America, at Natchitoches Regional Medical Center (NRMC) in LA, seeks a Registered Dietitian to assess nutritional needs, initiate interventions, and improve quality of life for residents. This hybrid role welcomes both experienced professionals and motivated new graduates, with extensive benefits and licensure support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nutrition (Prior to 2024) or related field.
• Master's degree in Nutrition or related field.
• Passed a national examination administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) or meets the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics requirements for eligibility.
• Completes 75 hours of continuing education hours every five years, in accordance with the CDR, utilizing the professional portfolio development process.
• Licensed or certified, per state requirements.
• Knowledge of regulation standards specific to comprehensive assessments, care planning, and residents’ rights.
• Ability to teach others, specifically pertaining to nutrition and dietetics.

Responsibilities

• Provide nutrition assessments and quarterly/annual assessments, including tube feedings and weight changes.
• Provide nutrition education to residents as needed.
• Create and update care plans for nurses/CNAs/CMA to reference at meals and snacks.
• Complete MDS for Section K and CAAs.
• Use nutrition-focused physical exams to identify malnutrition per ASPEN criteria.
• Attend care conference meetings with families and update on resident changes.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team for resident-centered care.
• Participate in QAPI Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement Meetings.
• Perform monthly kitchen inspections and meal service audits.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in nutrition (Prior to 2024) or related field

The Role at a glance:

We are looking to add a Registered Dietitian to our healthcare team in Natchitoches, LA. As a Registered Dietitian with Cura Hospitality, you will have the AMAZING opportunity to identify and assess the nutritional needs of assigned patients/residents, initiate interventions to achieve and/or maintain individuals' nutritional status, and enhance quality of life consistent with patient’s/resident’s goals. What you'll be doing:

• Provide Nutrition Assessments for admissions, quarterly assessments, annual assessments, tube feedings, weight changes +/-4% in 1 month, wounds, and for significant change assessments (such as a hospice admission or a significant improvement in ADLs).
• Nutrition education as needed and requested by residents.
• Creation and quarterly updates on care plans for nurses/CNAs/CMAs to reference at meals and snacks to tailor to resident food preferences.
• Completion of MDS (Minimum Data Sheets) for Section K and CAAs.
• Use of the nutrition-focused physical exam to identify residents who meet criteria for malnutrition according to ASPEN Malnutrition Criteria.
• Care conference meetings with families to update them on changes with the resident.
• Collaboration with interdisciplinary team to provide resident-centered care during weekly clinical meetings.
• QAPI Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement Meetings each quarter.
