Job summary

Cura Hospitality is seeking a Registered Dietitian for Natchitoches Regional Medical Center in Natchitoches, LA. The role blends clinical nutrition with care planning in a hybrid setting, welcoming new graduates and experienced professionals alike.

You will assess nutritional needs, initiate interventions, and collaborate with the care team to improve residents' nutritional status and quality of life.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nutrition (Prior to 2024) or related field.
• Master's degree in Nutrition or related field.
• Passed a national examination administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) or meets the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics requirements for eligibility.
• Completes 75 hours of continuing education hours every five years, in accordance with the CDR, utilizing the professional portfolio development process.
• Licensed or certified, per state requirements.
• Knowledge of regulation standards specific to comprehensive assessments, care planning, and residents’ rights.
• Ability to teach others, specifically pertaining to nutrition and dietetics.

Responsibilities

• Provide Nutrition Assessments for admissions, quarterly assessments, annual assessments, tube feedings, weight changes +/-4% in 1 month, wounds, and for significant change assessments.
• Nutrition education as needed and requested by residents.
• Creation and quarterly updates on care plans for nurses/CNAs/CMAs to reference at meals and snacks to tailor to resident food preferences.
• Completion of MDS (Minimum Data Sheets) for Section K and CAAs.
• Use of the nutrition-focused physical exam to identify residents who meet criteria for malnutrition according to ASPEN Malnutrition Criteria.
• Care conference meetings with families to update them on changes with the resident.
• Collaboration with interdisciplinary team to provide resident-centered care during weekly clinical meetings.
• QAPI Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement Meetings each quarter.
• Monthly Kitchen Inspections and Meal Service Audits

The Role At a Glance

We are looking to add a Registered Dietitian to our healthcare team in Natchitoches, LA. As a Registered Dietitian with Cura Hospitality, you will have the AMAZING opportunity to identify and assess the nutritional needs of assigned patients/residents, initiate interventions to achieve and/or maintain individuals' nutritional status, and enhance quality of life consistent with patient’s/resident’s goals.
