Job summary

Cura Hospitality is seeking an experienced registered dietitian to join our healthcare team in Leesport. You will assess nutritional needs, initiate interventions, and help improve residents’ quality of life in a hospital-like nursing home setting.

You will educate patients, collaborate with care teams, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards while contributing to continuous quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Must have passed the national exam (CDR) or eligibility per Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics
• Completes 75 hours of continuing education every five years
• Licensed or certified per state requirements
• Knowledge of regulation standards for assessments, care planning, and residents’ rights
• Ability to teach others about nutrition and dietetics

Responsibilities

• Provide nutritional expertise to the health care team and educate patients/residents, staff, or consultants
• Follow standards of practice and facility regulatory requirements
• Collaborate with other departments to set up procedures and policies related to dining and nutrition

The Role at a glance

We are looking to add an experienced registered dietitian to our healthcare team in Leesport. As a registered dietitian, you will have the opportunity to identify and assess the nutritional needs of assigned patients/residents, initiate interventions to achieve and/or maintain individuals’ nutritional status, and enhance quality of life consistent with patient’s/resident’s goals. This is a non-exempt role and you will be paid hourly.

Responsibilities

• Providing nutritional expertise to the health care team and educating patients/residents, staff, or consultants.
• Following the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics’ standards of practice and facility regulatory requirements.
• Interacting with other departments in setting up procedures and policies, and in problem solving as it relates to dining service and nutrition.
• Actively participating in the development, review, and revision of continuous quality improvement programs.

What we’re looking for

Must-haves:

• Passed a national examination administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) or meets the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics requirements for eligibility.
• Completes 75 hours of continuing education hours every five years, in accordance with the CDR, utilizing the professional portfolio development process.
• Licensed or certified, per state requirements.
• Knowledge of regulation standards specific to comprehensive assessments, care planning, and residents’ rights.
• Ability to teach others, specifically pertaining to nutrition and dietetics.

Nice-to-haves:

• Bachelor’s degree in nutrition or related field.
• Experience working in healthcare or long-term care.
