Job summary

Natchitoches Regional Medical Center in Louisiana is seeking a Registered Dietitian to join Cura Hospitality's healthcare team. This hybrid role focuses on assessing nutritional needs, planning interventions, and supporting resident well-being.

You will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, conduct nutrition assessments, update care plans, and participate in QAPI and clinical meetings. State licensure or certification required; new graduates welcome with commitment to growth.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in nutrition (Prior to 2024) or related field.
  • Master's degree in Nutrition or related field.
  • Licensed or certified, per state requirements.
  • Passed a national examination administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) or meets Academy requirements for eligibility.
  • Completes 75 hours of continuing education every five years, per CDR requirements.
  • Knowledge of regulation standards for comprehensive assessments, care planning, and residents’ rights.
  • Ability to teach others about nutrition and dietetics.
  • Experience in healthcare or long-term care is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide nutrition assessments for admissions, quarterly and annual reviews, tube feeds, weight changes, wounds, and significant changes.
  • Deliver nutrition education to residents when needed.
  • Create and update care plans for nurses and aides to reference at meals.
  • Complete MDS (Minimum Data Sheets) for Section K and CAAs.
  • Use nutrition-focused exam to identify malnutrition per ASPEN criteria.
  • Attend care conferences with families to discuss changes in residents.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team at weekly clinical meetings.
  • Participate in QAPI and quality improvement meetings each quarter.
  • Conduct monthly kitchen inspections and meal service audits.

The Role At a Glance

We are looking to add a Registered Dietitian to our healthcare team in Natchitoches, LA. As a Registered Dietitian with Cura Hospitality, you will have the AMAZING opportunity to identify and assess the nutritional needs of assigned patients/residents, initiate interventions to achieve and/or maintain individuals' nutritional status, and enhance quality of life consistent with patient’s/resident’s goals. What You'll Be Doing
  • Provide Nutrition Assessments for admissions, quarterly assessments, annual assessments, tube feedings, weight changes +/-4% in 1 month, wounds, and for significant change assessments (such as a hospice admission or a significant improvement in ADLs).
  • Nutrition education as needed and requested by residents.
  • Creation and quarterly updates on care plans for nurses/CNAs/CMAs to reference at meals and snacks to tailor to resident food preferences.
  • Completion of MDS (Minimum Data Sheets) for Section K and CAAs.
  • Use of the nutrition-focused physical exam to identify residents who meet criteria for malnutrition according to ASPEN Malnutrition Criteria.
  • Care conference meetings with families to update them on changes with the resident.
  • Collaboration with interdisciplinary team to provide resident-centered care during weekly clinical meetings.
  • QAPI Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement Meetings each quarter.
  • Monthly Kitchen Inspections and Meal Service Audits
Must-haves
  • Bachelor’s degree in nutrition (Prior to 2024) or related field
  • Master's degree in Nutrition or related field.
  • Passed a national examination administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) or meets the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics requirements for eligibility.
  • Completes 75 hours of continuing education hours every five years, in accordance with the CDR, utilizing the professional portfolio development process.
  • Licensed or certified, per state requirements.
  • Knowledge of regulation standards specific to comprehensive assessments, care planning, and residents’ rights.
  • Ability to teach others, specifically pertaining to nutrition and dietetics.
