The Renfrew Center of Bethesda seeks a Registered Dietitian to join our team and contribute to our research-based treatment model for eating disorders. The role emphasizes comprehensive nutrition assessments and individualized meal planning in a compassionate setting.

You will provide weekly nutrition counseling, lead group education sessions, and collaborate with the care team while ensuring patient privacy and ethical care standards.

Qualifications

• Registered Dietitian with current registration in Maryland and continuing education credits.
• Minimum 2–3 years nutrition counseling experience preferred.
• Experience with eating disorder population preferred.

Responsabilités

• Completes comprehensive nutritional assessment on admission.
• Counsels patients on balanced nutrition in individual sessions and conducts group discussions.
• Prepares individualized meal plans considering medical, nutritional, age, cultural, religious and ethical needs.
• Provides at least weekly individual nutritional counseling for patients and family.
• Conducts nutrition education groups for adults and adolescents.
• Provides nutrition status updates weekly as part of team rounds.
• Maintains patient confidentiality per HIPAA requirements.
• Participates in training activities and in-services.
• Monitors meals and snacks, modeling normal eating for patients.

Position Responsibilities:

• Completes a comprehensive nutritional assessment on each patient upon admission
• Counsels’ patients on principles of well-balanced nutrition in individual sessions and conducts group nutrition discussions
• Prepares individualized meal plans that consider the needs of the patient including medical, nutritional, age, cultural, religious and ethical concerns
• Provides at minimum weekly individual nutritional counseling for patients and family (as needed)
• Conducts nutrition education groups that are appropriate for adult and adolescent populations
• Provides updates on the nutritional status of each patient weekly as part of team rounds/meetings and as requested
• Demonstrates accountability for the proper use of patients’ protected health information
• Participates in presentations of scheduled in-services and other appropriate training activities
• Monitors meals and snacks, including eating/modeling normal eating with eating disordered patients

Education, Competencies and Credentials:

• Registered Dietitian with current registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration and up-to-date continuing education credits in the state of Maryland
• Minimum of 2-3 years of nutrition counseling experience preferred
• Experience with eating disorder population preferred
