Job summary

OPCO Skilled Management’s Cameron Nursing Center is seeking a Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) to assess residents’ nutritional needs, develop individualized care plans, and collaborate with physicians and nursing staff to ensure regulatory compliance. You will monitor changes in nutritional status and support resident-centered dietary services in a skilled nursing setting.

• CDR-registered RD/RDN credential is required.
• Missouri licensure as Dietitian or eligibility for licensure.
• Bachelor's degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or related field.
• Knowledge of clinical nutrition, therapeutic diets and medical nutrition therapy.
• Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills.
• Basic computer proficiency and experience with electronic medical records.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with an interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Complete comprehensive nutrition assessments for residents and new admissions.
• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized nutrition care plans.
• Conduct resident interviews to obtain food preferences and update profiles.
• Monitor nutritional status, weight, hydration, and swallowing concerns.
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing, speech therapy and other team members.
• Recommend therapeutic diets and nutrition interventions as needed.
• Provide nutrition education to residents, families, and staff.
• Participate in care planning meetings and quality improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with CMS, state and federal dietary regulations.
• Review meal service for quality and resident satisfaction.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record.

Essential Responsibilities

• Complete comprehensive nutrition assessments for new admissions and as required by regulations.

• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized nutrition care plans.

• Conduct resident interviews to obtain food preferences and complete Resident Food Profiles.

• Update resident food preferences in the dietary management/tray card system.

• Monitor residents for changes in nutritional status, weight, skin integrity, hydration, and swallowing concerns.

• Collaborate with physicians, nursing, speech therapy, and other interdisciplinary team members to optimize resident outcomes.

• Recommend therapeutic diets and nutrition interventions based on physician orders and clinical needs.

• Provide nutrition education to residents, families, and staff.

• Participate in care plan meetings and quality assurance/performance improvement initiatives.

• Ensure compliance with CMS, state, and federal regulations related to dietary services.

• Review and monitor meal service for quality, accuracy, and resident satisfaction.

• Assist with regulatory surveys and implement corrective actions when necessary.

• Refer residents with specialized nutritional concerns for additional evaluation as appropriate.

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.

Qualifications

Required

• Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) credential with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)

• Licensed Dietitian in the State of Missouri (or eligible for licensure)

• Bachelor's degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or related field

• Knowledge of clinical nutrition, therapeutic diets, and medical nutrition therapy

• Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills

• Basic computer proficiency and experience with electronic medical records

• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with an interdisciplinary team

Preferred

• Experience in skilled nursing, long-term care, rehabilitation, or geriatric nutrition

• Experience with PointClickCare or other electronic health records

• Knowledge of CMS regulations and survey process
