Responsibilities

• Promote dental health through prophylaxis, screenings, radiographs, and charting, in compliance with the Dental Practice Act
• Prepare patients for treatment, including seating and draping
• Answer patient and staff questions
• Maintain and sterilize instruments
• Evaluate patients' oral health to select materials and equipment
• Perform prophylaxis, removing deposits and stains
• Detect disease via screenings, examinations, and radiographs
• Apply fluorides and cavity-preventing agents to arrest decay

Requirements

• Active dental hygiene license in PA
• Knowledge of dental procedures and terminology
