Dental Hygienist Job Responsibilities

• Promote dental health through prophylaxis, oral cancer screenings, radiographs, and charting in compliance with the Dental Practice Act
• Prepare patients for treatment by welcoming, seating, and draping
• Provide information and answer patient questions
• Maintain instrumentation, sterilize, and select appropriate tools
• Evaluate oral health to select materials and equipment
• Perform dental prophylaxis, removing deposits and stains
• Detect disease via screenings, examinations, and radiographs
• Apply fluorides and cavity-preventing agents to arrest decay

Job Requirements

• Active dental hygiene license in PA
• Knowledge of dental procedures and terminology
• Understanding of HIPAA regulations and confidentiality
• Excellent communication skills for patient education
