Dental Hygienist Job Responsibilities

• Perform dental prophylaxis, oral cancer screenings, radiographs, and chart conditions of decay and disease, in compliance with the Dental Practice Act.
• Prepare patients for treatment by welcoming, seating, and draping.
• Provide information and answer patient questions.
• Maintain and sterilize instruments.
• Evaluate oral health to select appropriate materials and equipment.
• Clean teeth and beneath gum margins to remove deposits and stains.
• Detect disease through screenings, examinations, and radiographs.
• Apply fluorides and other agents to prevent cavities.

Job Requirements

• Active dental hygiene license in MI
• Knowledge of dental procedures and terminology
• Understanding of HIPAA regulations and confidentiality
• Excellent communication skills for patient education
