Registered Dental Hygienist - $53-$58/hour

Job Overview

Complete dental hygiene assessments, develop and implement personalized care plans, take and develop radiographs, set up instruments, sterilize equipment, and follow established protocols to promote oral health and control oral disease.

Responsibilities

1. Assess dental hygiene condition using screening procedures, medical history review, dental and perio charting, and vital signs.
2. Provide direct patient care, including cleaning, scaling, root planning, polishing, x-rays, sealants, and fluoride applications.
3. Develop and implement individualized care plans and provide oral health education.
4. Educate patients on dental health, plaque control, and nutrition.
5. Assist dentists during procedures and tests.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
• California license as a registered dental hygienist.
• Graduate of an accredited dental hygiene program.
• Current CPR certification.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish.

Preferred Qualifications

• Completion of board-approved courses in soft-tissue curettage, local anesthesia, and nitrous oxide administration.

Skills and Knowledge

• Understanding of regulations for dental services in ambulatory care.
• Ability to assess dental and periodontal conditions.
• Knowledge of patient screening, charting, and documentation.
• Understanding of dental surgery procedures and terminology.
• Basic computer skills, including MS Office and data entry.

Additional Information

Pay Range: $53.00 - $58.00 DOE
