SPECIALTY UNIT : Registered Dental Hygienist - RDH

JOB TYPE : Part-Time / Full-Time

Pay Rate : $48-57 / hr

Job Description :

We are seeking a highly skilled Dental Hygienist to join our established, team-oriented practice that emphasizes building long-lasting relationships with patients. The RDH promotes dental health by performing dental prophylaxis, providing oral cancer screenings and radiographic studies, charting conditions of decay and disease, and performing procedures in compliance with the dental practice act.

Responsibilities :

• Complete dental prophylaxis by cleaning deposits and stains from teeth and beneath gum margins.
• Detect disease through oral cancer screening, visual examination of gums, probing for periodontal disease, and radiographic studies.
• Prevent dental decay by applying fluorides and other cavity-preventing agents.
• Assist in managing dental and medical emergencies, maintaining CPR certification, emergency drugs, oxygen supply, and a directory of emergency contacts.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene, plaque control, postoperative care, and remind them of upcoming dental visits.
• Document services by recording vital signs and medical/dental histories, and charting in patient records.
• Ensure dental equipment operation through preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and inventory management.
• Maintain dental supplies inventory, anticipate needs, and place orders.
• Enhance professional knowledge by attending workshops, reviewing publications, networking, and participating in societies.
