Job Description:

Kansas City University College of Dental Medicine seeks a Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) in Joplin, Missouri. Reporting to the Associate Dean for Clinical Education and Patient Care, the qualified Registered Dental Hygienist will be responsible for general clinic administrative work, maintenance and support of the clinical faculty, dental students, and performance of clinical dental hygiene procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ability to practice clinical dental hygiene according to the Missouri Dental Practice Act
• Administration of local anesthesia and taking of radiographs
• Maintain patient records using an electronic health record, including documenting exam findings, procedures, and clinical recommendations.
• Sterilizing dental instruments and equipment when needed, restocking treatment areas, and maintaining materials and supplies when needed.
• Participation in maintenance of patient safety and quality assurance measures
• Delivering all levels of clinical instruction and supervision for pre-doctoral dental students

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Dental Hygiene or Dental Hygienist Certification from an accredited School of Dental Hygiene
• Current state licensure that includes permits for infiltration and block anesthesia as a registered dental hygienist by the Missouri Dental Board
• Clinical dental hygiene experience for 3-5 years, and a nitrous oxide permit is preferred
