Michigan Dental Outreach, a school‑based mobile dental practice, is seeking a Registered Dental Hygienist in Kalamazoo, MI and surrounding areas to provide dental care to underserved children at their schools.

Our innovative in‑school dental program offers a workday that ends with the school day and no nights or weekends, making it ideal for working parents and anyone who wants to make a difference in the dental field.

Registered Dental Hygienist Qualifications

• Licensed RDH in the state of Michigan
• Experience with sealants and polishing
• Organized, reliable, and able to multi‑task
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications
• CPR certification card
• Minimum of 1 year of working experience as a Dental Hygienist
• Digital X‑ray imaging experience
• Valid driver license and willingness to travel to schools in neighboring counties
• Works well with children
• Team player and able to work on a small team

Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) Responsibilities

• Assist with oral health management of all patients
• Verify the identity of patients using name and date of birth prior to administering treatment
• Review medical history and other pertinent oral health information
• Obtain an oral health assessment of each patient
• Provide oral hygiene services including dental prophylaxis scaling, sealant application, and fluoride application consistent with accepted best practices and standards
• Provide dental assistance as directed by the dentist
• Provide oral health education and individual counseling to each patient according to known oral health care practices (e.g., tooth brushing, flossing)
• Document provided dental services on the patient’s chart
• Daily travel to and from school sites
• Be a team player at all times
