Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Ensure patients feel comfortable before examination.
• Sterilize dental instruments properly.
• Conduct initial mouth screenings and review oral health history.
• Identify conditions like gingivitis, caries or periodontitis.
• Clean and protect patients’ teeth (plaque removal, fluoride application).
• Educate patients on proper teeth care and brushing techniques.
• Provide post-procedure instructions to patients.
• Take X-rays or dental impressions.
• Assist dentists with treatment planning for various conditions.
• Maintain documentation and charts for each patient.
• Monitor supplies and inventory.

Job description

Christopher Fauver, DDS is an established general dentist practicing in southern Vermont for 20 years. We are a high-tech, upscale practice in one of the most beautiful towns in Vermont. We have recently moved to a newly renovated state of the art facility with the latest technology. We are looking for fun, hard-working team members to join our work family. You must love dogs! We have 2 golden retriever therapy dogs named Winston and Finleigh who provide comfort and entertainment to patients and staff alike.

We have flexible hours available, up to three days a week.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure patients feel as comfortable as possible before their examination
• Sterilize dental instruments properly
• Conduct initial mouth screenings and check oral health history
• Identify conditions like gingivitis, caries or periodontitis
• Clean and help protect patients’ teeth (e.g. remove plaque or apply fluoride)
• Educate patients of all ages on proper teeth care (by demonstrating, for example, good brushing techniques)
• Give instructions to patients after operations or other dental procedures
• Take X-rays or dental impressions
• Assist dentists with selecting appropriate treatments for various diseases (including oral cancer)
• Maintain documentation and charts on each patient
• Monitor supplies

Skills:

• Proven experience as Dental Hygienist or similar role
• In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations in this profession (e.g. HIPAA)
• Experience in preparing and maintaining dental equipment
• Outstanding communication skills
• A patient and friendly personality
• Attention to detail
• Stamina to meet the physical demands of the job
