Job summary

Northshore Smiles Dentistry in Knoxville, TN seeks a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) to support the dentist, improve patient experience, and help deliver efficient, high‑quality care. You will assist with x‑rays, chairside procedures, patient education, and operatory setup.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, state licensing/certification as required, and an associate degree or certificate preferred.

Qualifications

• Equivalent to high school diploma or GED with mandated state certifications/licensure.
• State-mandated certifications/licensure (e.g., coronal polish, radiograph exposure).
• Associate degree or 1-year certificate from an accredited college or similar training.

Responsibilities

• Assist dentist to gain patient commitment for the best treatment with urgency.
• Participate in the Perfect Patient Experience, addressing patient needs and concerns.
• Maintain a clean, sterile environment; prepare patients for treatment and assist doctors.
• Take x-rays and intra-oral pictures as directed by the dentist.
• Instruct patients on postoperative and general oral health care.
• Sterilize/disinfect instruments and operatories per ADA guidelines.
• Adhere to State/Federal regulations (OSHA, HIPAA, DOL, etc.).
