Job summary

Eastern Dental in New Jersey is seeking a part-time Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) specializing in orthodontics to support the Orthodontist. You will prepare patients for treatment, assist with procedures, and help maintain a clean, efficient operatory.

The role includes taking and mounting radiographs, handling infection control, and educating patients on post‑treatment oral care. A current RDA license and an X‑ray license are required; Denticon experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• RDA license is required.
• Dental assisting experience in orthodontics is a plus.
• X-Ray license required.
• Denticon experience preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform orthodontic treatment procedures under the direct supervision of the Orthodontist.
• Set up and breakdown operatory post treatment.
• Take, develop and mount dental radiographs (x-rays).
• Manage infection control - prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment.
• Educate patients on appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health during orthodontic treatment.
• Provide patients with post-treatment oral care instructions.
• Perform various office tasks as necessary.
• Adhere to OSHA and safety policies and procedures.
