Summary

The Registered Dental Assistant supports dental care delivery by preparing treatment rooms, patients, instruments, and materials; passing instruments and materials; performing procedures in compliance with the Dental Practice Act.

Pay Range: $19.71-$26.44/hr (based on experience)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Assist the doctor in procedures
• Operate x-ray equipment and take x-rays
• Prophylaxis (cleaning) of teeth
• Instruct patients on oral hygiene
• Chart and develop treatment plans with the doctor
• Sterilize instruments
• Setup and prepare rooms for hygiene and treatment
• Take intraoral (IO) images
• Charting
• Apply sealants, if applicable

Education and/or Experience

• Certification from a dental college OR 3+ months related experience and/or training OR an equivalent combination of education and experience, preferred
• Bilingual in Spanish, preferred

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

• California Registered Dental Assistant License
• X-Ray Certification
• Coronal Polish Certification
• Current BLS certification
• Sealant Certification, preferred
