Magic Smiles Pediatric Dentistry in El Dorado Hills, CA is seeking a licensed Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) to join our pediatric team. The position is full-time with a pay rate of $25.00 per hour, offering a supportive work environment and opportunities to grow.

You will perform four-handed chairside assisting, radiography, behavior guidance, infection control, and patient education in a child-friendly setting.

Qualifications

• Active California Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) license is required.
• BLS/CPR certification required with annual recertification covered by the practice.
• Experience with pediatric dentistry and four-handed chairside assisting is preferred.
• Proficiency with practice management software (Open Dental a major plus).

Responsibilities

• Provide pediatric chairside assisting during preventive and restorative procedures.
• Capture high-quality digital dental X-rays keeping children comfortable.
• Assist with behavior guidance, nitrous oxide, and sedation procedures as needed.
• Maintain operatory flow and strict infection control per CDC/OSHA/ADA guidelines.
• Educate patients and parents with clear post-care instructions and reassurance.

• Dr. Masood, DDS: Hailing from the Bay Area, Dr. Masood graduated as high school valedictorian and studied general biology at UC San Diego before working as a pharmaceutical consultant. Driven by a passion for patient care, he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, followed by an Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) residency at the University of Connecticut (UConn), where he specialized in treating large special needs populations. He then completed his formal pediatric dental residency at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH, and served disadvantaged communities on the California Central Coast at a non-profit center. Outside the clinic, Dr. Masood is an enthusiastic sports fan, avid binge-watcher, live music lover, culinary explorer, and devoted family man who revels in travel!

What You’ll Do Every Day (Responsibilities)

• Pediatric Chairside Assisting: Deliver exceptional four-handed assisting during preventative, restorative, and specialized pediatric dental procedures.
• Radiography & Imaging: Safely capture high-quality digital dental X-rays while keeping young patients comfortable and at ease.
• Special Needs & Behavior Guidance: Assist providers during specialized pediatric workflows, including behavior guidance, Nitrous Oxide (N2O), and sedation procedures.
• Operatory Flow & Infection Control: Prepare, sanitize, and turn over treatment suites efficiently while strictly enforcing CDC, OSHA, and ADA safety standards.
• Patient & Parent Education: Warmly greet families, explain procedures clearly, provide post-care instructions, and create a positive, anxiety-free atmosphere.

What We're Looking For (Qualifications)

• Licensure Required: Active California Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) License.
• Certifications: Active BLS/CPR Certification (we cover your annual recertification fees!).
• Software Experience: Practice management software experience required (Open Dental experience is a major plus!).
• Core Qualities: A can-do attitude, excellent communication skills, a team-first spirit, and a genuine passion for working with children.
• Safety & Compliance: This position is safety-sensitive; successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen is required.
