Qualifications

Essential Functions
  • Assist and anticipate needs of the dentist and anesthesia provider related to instruments, sutures, sponges, and supplies per technique, procedure, and special requirements.
  • Prepare for dental surgical cases by selecting supplies and equipment, ensuring availability, and maintaining inventory.
  • Familiar with procedures performed and dentist preferences.
  • Provide age-appropriate care considering developmental, psychosocial, safety, educational, communication, and understanding needs.
  • Assist with patient transfer from bed to gurney.
  • Decontaminate and maintain all equipment, instruments, supplies, and clean surgical rooms between cases and at the end of schedules as directed.
  • Follow manufacturer and CDC guidelines for decontamination and sterilization.
  • Take and check x-rays.
  • Mix cement and other materials as required.
  • Handle suction handpieces and air/water syringes.
  • Ensure delivery of specimens to RN Circulator.
  • Stock and clean rooms between cases and at schedule end.
  • Assist with OR turnover and emergency care as directed.
  • Perform front desk duties as part of this position.
Position Requirements
  • High School Graduate or Equivalent
  • Completion of an Accredited Dental Assistant Program
  • Current state license to practice as a registered dental assistant
  • One year of RDA experience
  • Current BLS Certificate
  • Background and Drug Screening Required
