Lying just inland between the State's coastal mountain ranges and the Sierra Nevada Mountains, Adventist Health Reedley has been serving the Central Valley since 2011. We are comprised of a 49-bed acute care hospital and 60 clinics in 27 rural communities with primary and specialty care services. Reedley is a perfect location for outdoor enthusiasts as it is located in the central San Joaquin Valley portion of California, close to Yosemite, Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks. Job Summary

Provides appropriate oral health services to patients and families. Prepares materials and equipment for treatment and has them ready for dentist's use. Assists the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures including, but not limited to, processing dental radiographs (x-rays) and

Job Requirements

Education and Work Experience:

  • High School Education/GED or equivalent: Required
  • Associate’s/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred
  • Proof of completion after 120 days of continuous employment: A board-approved course in the Dental Practice Act (California) and a board-approved 8-hour course in infection control: Required

Licenses/Certifications

  • Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) in state of practice: Preferred
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQIBLS) certification: Required

Essential Functions

  • Sterilizes and disinfects instruments and equipment. Prepares treatment rooms, instruments and tray setups for dental procedures.
  • Greets and prepares patients for treatment.
  • Exposes, develops and mounts dental radiographs. Assists the dentist during examinations and treatment procedures.
  • Conducts work in compliance with office policies and procedures, safety and OSHA guidelines.
  • Participates in the achievement of patient satisfaction and office production goals. Provides patient education materials. Maintains an appropriate office environment.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
