Our general dentist office is searching for a dental assistant to help in a busy Los Altos practice with a history of strong patient relationships that extends four decades. There is a lot of opportunity for growth in services in addition to performing bread-and-butter dental procedures.

What are we looking for?

  • Ideally at least 2-4 years assisting experience in dental field (RDA), but we are happy to train the right person!
  • Friendly personality with a positive can-do attitude who wants to grow and be a part of our team.
  • Someone who will help shape the office culture in a positive way and wants to work together in a team.
  • Someone who is open to cross-training and lend a helping hand in various areas of the dental office.
  • A team member who is comfortable with using computers, cameras, bonus points for Open Dental experience!

Your Mission (Should You Choose to Accept It):

  • Assist in procedures from restorative (crowns and fillings) and surgical treatment to various types of sedation, all while using advanced technology to deliver the best patient care.
  • Prepare and maintain dental instruments and equipment, ensuring that everything is ready for the next patient.
  • Support front office team with scheduling and patient communication when necessary.
  • Provide a calming bedside manner for patients who are nervous.
  • Provide excellent chairside assistance (i.e., support the doctor, support the patient, and provide full-circle service to ensure best patient experience).
  • Communicate efficiently and effectively with all team members to ensure efficient operations and smooth patient flow.
  • Keep things organized—sterilize instruments, maintain accurate patient records, and ensure the office is always running efficiently.
  • Help manage inventory and supplies to keep everything stocked and ready - including communication with necessary reps.

Job Type:

  • Full-time Monday - Thursday.
  • Expected hours: 32 per week.
  • Schedule: 8 hour shift, no nights, no weekends.
  • Pay: $33.00 - $42.00 per hour (dependent upon experience).
