Job Summary

Assist the supervising dentist with procedures within the scope of an RDA as outlined in Title 16, chapter 3. This position is represented by RCHEA.

Education And Qualifications

  • High School graduate or GED required
  • Minimum of one year experience in dental office or similar setting
  • Current CPR Certification
  • Licensed as a Registered Dental Assistant by the State of California within three months of hire
Physical Requirements/Work Environment/Use Of Senses And Communications Skills

  • Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
  • Must comply with HIPAA and confidentiality regulations.
  • Equipment used includes biomedical devices, computers, photocopiers, fax machines, radiographic equipment.
  • Physical demands include frequent bending, squatting, kneeling, climbing, reaching, sitting, walking, standing, talking, hearing, repetitive hand motions, and occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.
  • Potential exposure to blood and body fluids; protective measures required.
Job Roles

Registered Dental Assistant (Outpatient) (AHCL)

  • Assist in daily office functions such as answering phones, scheduling, registering patients, and chart management.
  • Assist in scheduling dental patients.
  • Clean and sterilize dental equipment and operatories.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Set up trays for procedures.
  • Perform other duties and innovations as assigned.
