Position: Registered Dental Assistant (RDA)

Registered Dental Assistants perform a variety of patient care, office, and laboratory duties. The primary role of the RDA is to assist the dentist in gaining the patient’s commitment to the best possible treatment, with urgency. Key duties include:

  1. Assisting the dentist in starting treatment, utilizing x-ray time to promote the qualities of the dentist, and educating patients with intra-oral pictures.
  2. Using effective chair-side skills and supporting the dentist’s diagnosis post-examination when patients have questions.
  3. Following procedures for compliance with safety regulations, infection control, and permitted duties.
Responsibilities
  • Assist the dentist to gain patient commitment for treatment with urgency.
  • Participate in the Perfect Patient Experience® by focusing on optimal treatment and addressing patient needs.
  • Maintain a clean, sterile, and welcoming environment; prepare patients and assist doctors to ensure efficient, quality care.
  • Complete x-rays and intra-oral pictures as directed by the dentist.
  • Instruct patients on postoperative and oral health care.
  • Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment following ADA guidelines.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations (OSHA, HIPAA, Dental Board, etc.).
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED; required training courses for certification, licensure, or registration as per state regulations.
  • Certifications/licenses such as radiograph exposure, coronal polish, ultrasonic scaling, sealant application, etc., as mandated by the state.
  • Associate degree or a one-year certificate from an accredited institution or equivalent experience preferred.

Compensation: $19.25 - $27.00 per hour
