Job summary

Rodeo Dental in Stafford, TX is seeking a Registered Dental Assistant to support patient care across orthodontics, pediatrics, periodontics and more. You will work in the back office and lobby, assisting doctors and engaging patients with a caring, energetic approach.

The ideal candidate will hold an active Texas RDA license, be bilingual in Spanish and English, have CPR/AED training, and be comfortable using Open Dental or Dentrix. Evening and weekend hours may be required.

Qualifications

• Active RDA license registered with the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners (TSBDE).
• Current CPR and AED training.
• Dental practice management software experience (Open Dental/Dentrix) is helpful.
• Sealant, Coronal Polishing, or PALS certifications are a plus.
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain inventory and assist in patient care across dental specialties.
• Educate patients on oral health and treatment plans.
• Take diagnostic X-Rays and attach them to patient charts.
• Prepare operatories and sterilize/ disinfect rooms per protocols.
• Document health history, insurance eligibility, and treatment details.
• Ensure patient safety and assist the doctor during procedures.

JOB OVERVIEW:

The Registered Dental Assistant is a key member and contributor in creating an amazing, one-of-a-kind Patient Experience. The RDA will provide direct patient care in all dental specialties, including orthodontics, pediatric dentistry, periodontics, endodontics, and oral surgery. Successful candidates will work in the Back Office and in our world-class lobbies engaging, entertaining, and caring for our patients.

SCHEDULE:

This position requires a flexible schedule that may require extended hours as business requires – including evenings and weekends.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must maintain an active Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) License registered with the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners (TSBDE)
• Active CPR and AED training
• Current certification to monitor Nitrous Oxide preferred
• Maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA and Infection Control training
• Dental practice management software (Open Dental/Dentrix) experience helpful
• Sealant, Coronal Polishing, or PALS Certifications are all a huge plus!
• Bilingual (Spanish/ English) is required

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• End of week inventory to be provided to Lead DA to replenish inventory
• Focusing on Patient Safety and Team Safety as priority one
• Adhering to OSHA and Infection Control Protocols, and disposing of sharps and clinical waste in a prompt and safe manner
• Maintaining digital patient artifacts such as health history, insurance eligibility, treatment plans, pre-authorizations, lab requests, procedures, and appointment details
• Educating patients and parents on the benefits of good oral health
• Monitoring the patient's physical and emotional well-being during the entire visit
• Preparing tray set-ups according to doctor preferences and planned procedures
• Ensuring that exam rooms and operatories are cleaned, disinfected, organized, and stocked according to the required standards at the beginning and end of each patient interaction
• Charting existing treatment for new patients by updating the patient chart with entries for fillings, crowns, sealants, etc.
• Reviewing the patient chart and health history prior to the doctor arrival and reconfirming the patient's chief concern
• Taking diagnostic quality X-Rays and attaching them to the patient chart
• Helping the Rodeo Team clean surfaces, sinks, floors and common areas of exam rooms, operatories, reception, break rooms, restrooms, etc.
• Performs all other duties as assigned PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Prolonged sitting and standing as needed
• Ability to lift up to 15 lbs
