Job summary

Rodeo Dental is seeking a Registered Dental Assistant to support patient care across all dental specialties, working in the back office and lobby to deliver a warm, efficient patient experience.

Active RDA license with the Texas Board, CPR/AED, and willingness to work evenings/weekends are required. Bilingual Spanish is a plus; knowledge of Open Dental or Dentrix is helpful. You will chart, take X-rays, manage inventory, and maintain strict infection-control standards.

Qualifications

  • Active RDA license registered with the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners (TSBDE).
  • CPR and AED training completed.
  • Current certification to monitor Nitrous Oxide preferred.
  • Annual OSHA, HIPAA and Infection Control training completed.
  • Dental practice management software (Open Dental/Dentrix) experience helpful.
  • Sealant, Coronal Polishing, or PALS certifications are a plus.
  • Bilingual Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

  • End of week inventory to replenish inventory with Lead DA oversight.
  • Prioritize patient safety and team safety at all times.
  • Adhere to OSHA and Infection Control protocols and dispose of sharps safely.
  • Maintain digital patient artifacts: health history, eligibility, treatment plans, pre-authorizations, lab requests, appointments.
  • Educate patients and parents on benefits of good oral health.
  • Monitor patient well-being throughout the visit.
  • Prepare tray setups according to doctor preferences for procedures.
  • Ensure exam rooms and operatories are cleaned, disinfected, and stocked.
  • Chart existing treatment for new patients and update charts accordingly.
  • Review patient charts and health history before doctor arrival.
  • Take diagnostic X-rays and attach to patient chart.
  • Assist Rodeo Team with cleaning surfaces and areas.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

JOB OVERVIEW:

The Registered Dental Assistant is a key member and contributor in creating an amazing, one-of-a-kind Patient Experience. The RDA will provide direct patient care in all dental specialties, including orthodontics, pediatric dentistry, periodontics, endodontics, and oral surgery. Successful candidates will work in the Back Office and in our world-class lobbies engaging, entertaining, and caring for our patients.

SCHEDULE:

This position requires a flexible schedule that may require extended hours as business requires – including evenings and weekends.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must maintain an active Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) License registered with the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners (TSBDE)
  • Active CPR and AED training
  • Current certification to monitor Nitrous Oxide preferred
  • Maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA and Infection Control training
  • Dental practice management software (Open Dental/Dentrix) experience helpful
  • Sealant, Coronal Polishing, or PALS Certifications are all a huge plus!
  • Bilingual (Spanish) is preferred
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • End of week inventory to be provided to Lead DA to replenish inventory
  • Focusing on Patient Safety and Team Safety as priority one
  • Adhering to OSHA and Infection Control Protocols, and disposing of sharps and clinical waste in a prompt and safe manner
  • Maintaining digital patient artifacts such as health history, insurance eligibility, treatment plans, pre-authorizations, lab requests, procedures, and appointment details
  • Educating patients and parents on the benefits of good oral health
  • Monitoring the patient's physical and emotional well-being during the entire visit
  • Preparing tray set-ups according to doctor preferences and planned procedures
  • Ensuring that exam rooms and operatories are cleaned, disinfected, organized, and stocked according to the required standards at the beginning and end of each patient interaction
  • Charting existing treatment for new patients by updating the patient chart with entries for fillings, crowns, sealants, etc.
  • Reviewing the patient chart and health history prior to the doctor arrival and reconfirming the patient's chief concern
  • Taking diagnostic quality X-Rays and attaching them to the patient chart
  • Helping the Rodeo Team clean surfaces, sinks, floors and common areas of exam rooms, operatories, reception, break rooms, restrooms, etc.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Prolonged sitting and standing as needed
  • Ability to lift up to 15 lbs
