Job summary

Practice Positions is seeking a Registered Dental Assistant to support the dentist during treatments and exams. The role emphasizes patient care, accurate charting, and team collaboration in a fast-paced dental office.

Responsibilities include assisting with procedures, sterilization, and post-care instructions while maintaining HIPAA compliance and high customer service standards. This is a full-time on-site position in Converse Smiles.'

Qualifications

  • Must hold a Texas Registered Dental Assistant license.
  • Sealant Placement, Nitrous Monitoring and Coronal Polishing certifications preferred (if 2+ years of experience, company offers courses).
  • Digital x-ray and digital charting experience required or preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and prepare patients for exams, complete digital charting and verify codes.
  • Capture quality x-ray images.
  • Assist dentist with a variety of treatment procedures.
  • Set up and sterilize exam and treatment rooms.
  • Discuss treatment options and follow-up care.
  • Provide teeth polishing and sealant placement (with certifications).
  • Schedule patient appointments as needed.
  • Sterilize instruments and maintain cross-contamination standards.
  • Engage with patients to create positive environments and explain post-care instructions.

Registered Dental Assistant

Reports to: Practice Manager, Regional Manager
Key Partnerships: Operations, Clinical, Support Center
Department: Operations
Salary: $16-18/hr (based on experience)
Classification: Non-Except
Status: Full-Time

About this role: The Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) is responsible for supporting the Dentist during treatments, exams and treatment discussions with patients. This position is responsible for performing general RDA duties in collaboration with other team members. We are looking for team members who are focused on providing quality customer service and maintaining a strong professional relationship with others and a positive attitude.

Job Responsibilities
  • Greet and prepare patients for exams, completing digital charting and verifying codes with precision.
  • Capture quality x-ray images
  • Assist dentist with a variety of treatment procedures
  • Setting up and sterilizing exam and treatment rooms
  • Discussing treatment options, importance and follow up recommended care
  • Providing teeth polishing and sealant placement procedure (with required certifications)
  • Supporting with patient treatment appointment scheduling as requested
  • Sterilizing instruments and following cross contamination standards
  • Creating positive and uplifting patient environments by patient engagement before, during and after visits
  • Guiding parents and patients through post-care instructions
  • Assisting patients with company-provided prizes and dismissal
  • Understanding and adhering to HIPAA guidelines
  • Other duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications: (Preferred)
  • Texas Issued Registered Dental Assistant Licensing
  • Sealant Placement, Nitrous Monitoring and Coronal Polishing Certifications preferred (if 2+ years of experience, company provides courses)
  • Digital x-ray and Digital Charting Experience
