Job summary

Practice Positions is seeking a Registered Dental Assistant to support the Dentist during treatments and exams and to maintain high standards of patient care.

The RDA will contribute to digital charting, x-ray imaging, sterilization, and patient education, while ensuring HIPAA compliance and a positive patient experience at Smile Magic Garland.

Qualifications

• Texas Issued Registered Dental Assistant Licensing is required.
• Certification in Sealant Placement, Nitrous Monitoring or Coronal Polishing is preferred (2+ years experience may qualify for company-provided courses).
• Experience with Digital x-ray and Digital Charting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet and prepare patients for exams, complete digital charting and verify codes with precision.
• Capture quality x-ray images.
• Assist dentist with a variety of treatment procedures.
• Set up and sterilize exam and treatment rooms.
• Discuss treatment options, importance and follow up care.
• Provide teeth polishing and sealant placement (with required certifications).
• Schedule patient appointments as requested.
• Sterilize instruments and follow cross-contamination standards.
• Create positive patient environments and engage patients during visits.
• Explain post-care instructions to patients/parents.
• Assist patients with prizes and dismissal.
• Adhere to HIPAA guidelines.
• Other duties as assigned.

Registered Dental Assistant

Reports to: Practice Manager, Regional Manager
Key Partnerships: Operations, Clinical, Support Center
Department: Operations
Salary: $17-20/hr (based on experience)
Classification: Non-Except
Status: Full-Time

About this role:

The Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) is responsible for supporting the Dentist during treatments, exams and treatment discussions with patients. This position is responsible for performing general RDA duties in collaboration with other team members. We are looking for team members who are focused on providing quality customer service and maintaining a strong professional relationship with others and a positive attitude.

Job Responsibilities:

• Greet and prepare patients for exams, completing digital charting and verifying codes with precision.
• Capture quality x-ray images
• Assist dentist with a variety of treatment procedures
• Setting up and sterilizing exam and treatment rooms
• Discussing treatment options, importance and follow up recommended care
• Providing teeth polishing and sealant placement procedure (with required certifications)
• Supporting with patient treatment appointment scheduling as requested
• Sterilizing instruments and following cross contamination standards
• Creating positive and uplifting patient environments by patient engagement before, during and after visits
• Guiding parents and patients through post-care instructions
• Assisting patients with company-provided prizes and dismissal
• Understanding and adhering to HIPAA guidelines
• Other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications: (Preferred)

• Texas Issued Registered Dental Assistant Licensing
• Sealant Placement, Nitrous Monitoring and Coronal Polishing Certifications preferred (if 2+ years of experience, company provides courses)
• Digital x-ray and Digital Charting Experience
