Registered Dental Assistants perform a variety of patient care, office, and laboratory duties. The primary role of the RDA is to assist the dentist in providing the best possible treatment with urgency. Key duties include:

• Assisting the dentist to gain patient commitment for treatment
• Participating in the Perfect Patient ExperienceÔ by focusing on patient needs and concerns
• Maintaining a clean, sterile, and welcoming environment
• Completing x-rays and intra-oral pictures as directed
• Instructing patients on postoperative and general oral health care
• Sterilizing and disinfecting instruments and equipment in accordance with ADA guidelines
• Ensuring compliance with safety and health regulations

Qualifications include:

• High school diploma or GED, with necessary state certifications
• Relevant licenses or registrations as mandated by state
• Preferred: Associate degree or equivalent experience
