Job summary

Valle Smiles in Fairfield, CA is seeking a compassionate Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) to join our busy dental office. The ideal candidate will be organized, detail-oriented, and have strong communication skills, especially with children.

This full-time position offers a Monday–Friday schedule, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, and a benefits package including health, dental, vision, paid time off, and a 401(k).

Qualifications

• CA RDA licensure required.
• X-Ray certification required.
• BLS/CPR certification required.
• Experience with pediatric dentistry (pedo) and orthodontics (ortho) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist during a variety of treatment procedures.
• Set up and breakdown operatory post-treatment.
• Take dental x-rays according to dentist's orders.
• Manage infection control – sterilize instruments and equipment.
• Provide patients with post-treatment oral-care instructions.

Key Qualifications and Skills

• Current CA RDA licensure
• X-Ray License
• BLS/CPR Certified
• Experience in Pedo and Ortho required
• An outgoing and friendly personality
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, especially when working with children
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Proven record of excellent attendance and punctuality, demonstrating reliability and commitment to the team.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist during a variety of treatment procedures.
• Set up and breakdown operatory post-treatment.
• Take dental x-rays according to dentist's orders.
• Manage infection control - prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment.
• Provide patients with instructions for oral care following dental treatment procedures
• Educate patients on appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health (tooth brushing, flossing, etc.)
• Help patients feel comfortable before, during, and after dental treatment.
• Provide administrative support when necessary.
