$22.25 - $30.75 / Hourly

Registered Dental Assistants perform a variety of patient care, office, and laboratory duties. The primary role of the Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) is to assist the dentist in gaining the patient’s commitment to the best possible treatment, with urgency. Key duties include:

  • Assisting the dentist in starting treatment and promoting the dentist’s qualities using x-ray time and intra-oral pictures
  • Educating patients and supporting the dentist’s diagnosis after examinations
  • Abiding by safety, infection control, and permitted duties according to regulations

Responsibilities

  • Assist the dentist to gain patient commitment for treatment
  • Participate in the Perfect Patient ExperienceÔ by focusing on patient needs and concerns
  • Maintain a clean, sterile, and welcoming environment; prepare patients and assist the doctors
  • Complete x-rays and intra-oral pictures as directed by the dentist
  • Instruct patients on postoperative and oral health care
  • Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment following ADA guidelines
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and health regulations

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED, with mandated training courses for certification or licensure
  • Relevant certifications/licenses as required by the state (e.g., radiograph exposure, ultrasonic scaling, sealant application)
  • Associate degree or one-year certificate preferred; equivalent education and experience acceptable
