Job summary

Intermountain Health Riverton Hospital in Utah seeks a Registered Dietitian to provide medical nutrition therapy and nutrition care across the continuum. The role supports quality nutrition education, diagnosis, interpretation of labs, and collaboration with clinicians in a full-time schedule at Riverton.

Eligible candidates may be RD with CDR or pending exam, master’s degree for eligibility, and licensure within 6 months. A $2,500 sign-on bonus is offered along with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

  • RD must be Registered Dietitian (CDR) or eligible and pass exam within 6 months if eligible.
  • Master's degree required for registration eligible graduates (Jan 2024+).
  • Completion of ACEND-accredited DPD/DI/CP or graduate-level program.
  • State licensure or certification per primary state of practice; obtain within 6 months of hire.
  • Clinical dietetics experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Complete and document nutrition assessments.
  • Interpret nutrition-related lab values.
  • Identify and document nutrition diagnoses.
  • Implement nutrition interventions and education.
  • Monitor and evaluate nutrition outcomes.

Job Description:

The Registered Dietitian Clinical facilitates the nutrition care process to provide individuals with quality medical nutrition therapy for common disease states and/or to promote optimal wellness.

Pay Rate: Based on Experience
Shift Details: Full-Time (40hrs/wk). M-F dayshift with rotating weekends and holidays
Additional Details: This position can be hired as a Registered Dietitian Clinical or Registered Dietitian Clinical Specialist based on the selected candidate’s qualifications and experience.
Sign On Bonus: $2500
Essential Functions
  • Completes and documents nutrition assessment.
  • Assess and interpret nutrition-related lab values.
  • Identifies and documents nutrition diagnosis.
  • Identifies and implements appropriate nutrition interventions including quality nutrition education based on customer needs, expectations, and culture.
  • Monitors and evaluates individual nutrition outcomes related to nutrition diagnosis, goals, and interventions.
  • Communicates nutrition expertise with all appropriate healthcare providers.
  • Collaborates with other dietitians including referring patients to specialty-trained dietitians as appropriate.
  • Supports nutrition care across the healthcare continuum.
  • Participates in department continuous improvement projects.
  • Registered Dietitian Nutritionist order writing privileges per policy/protocol.

Qualifications (Registered Dietitian Clinical)
  • Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration or registration eligible. If hired in registration eligible status, employee must successfully pass the Registered Dietitian credentialing exam within 6 months of hire to remain in the job.
  • For registration eligible graduates after Jan 1, 2024, completion of a minimum of a master’s degree by an accredited university. Education is verified.
  • Completion of an ACEND accredited Didactic Program in Dietetics, Dietetic Internship, Coordinated Program, or graduate-level competency-based dietitian nutritionist program.
  • State licensure or certification in accordance with the primary state of practice requirement for Registered Dietitians. If the primary state of practice requires licensure or certification, this must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
  • Experience in clinical dietetics, preferred.
Qualifications (Registered Dietitian Clinical Specialist)
  • Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration.

  • Demonstrated ability to apply the Nutrition Care Process in multiple patient populations and/or disease types.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply evidence-based research to clinical practice.
  • 2 or more years of dietetics experience in a clinical setting, preferred.
  • Experience in managing patients in a specialty area, preferred.
  • Relevant dietetics-related specialty practice credential (CNSC, CSP, CDCES, CSO, CSR, CSOWM, etc.), preferred
Physical Requirements
  • Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.
  • Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.
  • Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.
  • For roles requiring driving: Expected to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles.

Registered Dietitian Clinical Pay Range: 29.14 - 44.94 Hourly

Registered Dietitian Specialist Pay Range: 32.02 - 49.44 Hourly
