Job summary

Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center is seeking a Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist for its Cath Lab in Woodbridge, VA. Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent required; trade school preferred.
• RCIS or CI certification; ARRT Cardiac Interventional Radiography certifications.
• BLS required; ACLS required within 90 days of hire.
• 1 year experience in cardiovascular invasive environment.
• Medication administration experience and sterile procedure experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Job description

Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center hiring a Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist

Full Time, day shift position in Woodbridge, VA!

Sign on bonus of up to $20,000 available for Qualified Candidates!

Must be within 30 minutes of the facility for on call requirements.

The schedule is 5 eight-hour days. On Call requirement is a minimum of 8 shifts per month including at least 1 weekend.

Department Overview:

The Cath Lab at Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center is a 50-person team of monitor techs, cardiovascular invasive techs, registered nurses and patient care staff for additional support. The team sees a mix of inpatient and outpatient and an average of 10 procedures per day. Heart and Vascular has 3 labs for EP, Cardiac and IR at SNVMC.

Primary responsibilities include acting as a first assistant to physicians during diagnostic and interventional procedures such as cardiac catheterizations, angioplasties, and electrophysiology studies. The Specialist operates and monitors advanced imaging and hemodynamic equipment, ensures accurate data collection, and maintains a sterile environment throughout all procedures. They are responsible for patient preparation, real-time monitoring, procedural documentation, and post-procedure care coordination.

The Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist administers medication under the direction of a qualified physician; ensures compliance with all hospital policies, HIPAA regulations, and accreditation standards; participates in on call rotation and responds rapidly to emergency cases, including STEMI activations; and contributes to ongoing quality assurance and process improvement initiatives in the cath lab.

ACLS must be obtained within 90 days of hire.

Education:

• High School Graduate or Equivalent required
• Trade School graduate preferred

Certifications:

• RCIS or Unexpired Certification Achievements any in the selection list ARRT Cardiac Interventional Radiography(CI) - Certifications
• BLS required
• ACLS required within 90 days of hire

Experience:

• Cardiovascular Invasive Technologist or working in an invasive cardiac environment 1 year Required
• Medication administration experience preferred
• Specialty procedures experience preferred
• EP and Cardiac Cath Experience preferred
• Sterile procedure experience preferred
