Job summary

SESI is hiring an RBT in Sacramento, CA to work with small groups of students and assist the teacher in delivering individualized supports. You will monitor behavior, track progress, and communicate with parents to support student success.

The role involves reinforcing curriculum, collaborating with staff, and ensuring safety with de-escalation and crisis-management techniques as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• College experience and/orBachelor's Degree preferred.
• Experience working with youth preferred.

Responsibilities

• Reinforce learning and provide one-on-one tutorials with students.
• Assist teacher with large group activities and supervise testing.
• Utilize behavior support and intervention strategies.
• Implement de-escalation and crisis management, and safe restraint if necessary.
• Support and document students’ growth and progress toward academic, social, and emotional goals.
• Supervise students and ensure they are monitored during transitions and throughout the day.
• Light lifting and mobility may be required.

About Us

Sierra School of Sacramentois a nonpublic, special education school that serves students from K – 12th grade (ages 5-22). We utilize unique education models, an effective positive behavior management system, and multiple mental health techniques to increase academic awareness, develop social skills and cultivate proper classroom behavior in each of our students. Our goal is to work along side the student to improve academic and social success so that the student can return to a least restrictive setting. The Opportunity

The RBT will be responsible for working with small groups ofstudentsand the teacher to deliver individualized services and supports. They will monitor student behavior, track educational progress, and communicate with parents. Additionally, they will help reinforce the curriculum provided by the teacher. Every child deserves to reach their full potential and we’re looking to hire an exceptionalAssistant Teacherwho will play an essential role in fueling student success.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesInclude the following. Other duties as assigned.

• Work with students to reinforce learning of material or skill initially introduced by the teacher by assigning appropriate tasks, completing one-on-one tutorials, and implementing the SESI rotation model
• Assistthe Teacherwith large group activities, correcting papers, supervising testing, guiding independent study or enrichment activities, providing accommodations and modifications as necessary
• Utilize behaviorsupportand intervention strategies
• Implementde-escalation techniques, crisis management, and physical restraintifnecessary to maintain the safety of students and staff

• Support and document students’ growth and progress towards academic, social, and emotional goals
• Supervise students and ensure they are always monitored, including to and from appropriate locations within the school
• Light lifting, walking, and/or climbing stairs may be required

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required
• College experience and/orBachelor's Degreepreferred
