Registered Behavior Technician - Special Education Support Assistant (F/T)

Qualifications:

  • Current RBT Certification or ability to be recertified in a timely manner
  • Preferably college experience
  • Experience working with children with disabilities (preferably students with Social/Emotional needs)
  • Must be able to lift 30 pounds

Reports to: Teacher(s) assigned

Confers with: Teacher(s), Specialists, and Building Administrator

Job goal: To support preschool students by implementing student behavior plans and supporting student needs and programming as directed.

Performance Responsibilities:

  • Support preschool students with additional support from the special educators, specialists, and BCBA.
  • Work with students individually, in small groups, or in large groups as necessary and as prescribed by the immediate supervisor.
  • This position involves working specifically with preschool-aged students with disabilities, requiring various behavioral and therapeutic supports throughout the school day.
  • Demonstrate continuous sensitivity to the needs of children to whom they are assigned.
  • Maintain competency and skills through available training offerings.
  • Obtain and maintain CPI (Non Violent Crisis Prevention Intervention) certification as expected of RBTs.
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.

Terms of employment: To be established by the school board by August 20th.

2025-2026 Hourly Salary: Starting at $21.81/hour with current RBT certification.

Hours per day: 6.5

School year: 183 days/year

Evaluation: Performance will be evaluated at least annually by the building administrator and immediate supervisor(s).
