Job summary

The Place for Children with Autism in Chicago is seeking a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) for an in-person, full-time role at Portage Park. You will provide 1:1 therapy to children with autism, implement evidence-based programs, and help track progress under BCBA guidance.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Work 1:1 with children aged 2–8 with ASD to develop communication, social, and daily living skills.
  • Implement individualized therapy programs designed by BCBA clinicians, collect data, and discuss progress with the team.
  • Engage children using play, movement, and positive reinforcement to promote growth.
  • Collaborate with families to celebrate progress and address challenges.

Competitive Pay Based on Your Experience & Education:
  • High School orAssociate’s Degree: $17.05 – $23.00 per hour, with $1.00 per hour increases every six months (based on your starting level at hire).
  • Master’s Degree: $18.00 – $24.00 per hour.

What You’ll Do:
  • Work 1:1 with children between the ages of 2-8 withAutism Spectrum Disorder(ASD), helping them learn communication, social, anddaily-livingskills.
  • Implement individualized therapy programs designed by our Board-Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs), collect data, and participate in team discussions around progress and strategy.
  • Bring energy, creativity, and passion – Using play, movement, and laughter to engage children while promoting skill-building and growth.
  • Partner with clients and their families in celebrating wins, problem-solving challenges, and promoting each child’s growth.
What We’re Looking For:
  • Energeticteam players who show up ready to engage and move with children throughout their sessions – This includes bending, squatting,lifting upto 30 pounds, and keeping pace with energetic young learners during play and activities.
  • A collaborator ready to take on multiple tasks and decisions at once – whether it’s guiding a child, taking notes, or communicating with parents or clinical staff.
  • Positive role models with a commitment to safety by keeping the therapy environment organized, safe, and welcoming so every child can explore and learn comfortably.
  • Driven optimists who arrive to work on-time each day and are ready to learn, take feedback, and bring a can-do attitude to their teams and the families they serve.
  • Must be at least 18 years old and hold a minimum of a High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Have accessibility to reliable transportation with a valid driver’s license and insurance, and be able to travel to other clinics to support when assigned.
