Job summary

The Place for Children for Autism is hiring a Behavior Therapist to work 1:1 with children ages 4–12 in our Chicago centers. No prior experience required; we provide fully paid training to help you earn RBT certification, with support to sit for the exam within about 35 days of starting.

You will implement individualized therapy programs under BCBA supervision, collect data, and collaborate with families and clinical staff to promote each child’s growth and skill development.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and hold a High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Access to reliable transportation with a valid driver’s license and insurance; ability to travel to other clinics as needed.

Responsibilities

• Work 1:1 with children aged 4–12 to develop communication, social, and daily-living skills.
• Implement individualized therapy programs designed by BCBA supervisors; collect data and participate in team discussions.
• Engage children using play, movement and laughter to promote skill-building.

What You’ll Do

• Work 1:1 with children between the ages of 4-12 with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), helping them learn communication, social, and daily-living skills.
• Implement individualized therapy programs designed by our Board-Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs), collect data, and participate in team discussions around progress and strategy.
• Bring energy, creativity, and passion – Using play, movement, and laughter to engage children while promoting skill-building and growth.
• Partner with clients and their families in celebrating wins, problem-solving challenges, and promoting each child’s growth.

What We’re Looking For

• Energetic team players who show up ready to engage and move with children throughout their sessions – This includes bending, squatting, lifting up to 30 pounds, and keeping pace with energetic young learners during play and activities.

• Must be at least 18 years old and hold a minimum of a High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Have accessibility to reliable transportation with a valid driver’s license and insurance and be able to travel to other clinics to support when assigned.

What We Offer

Competitive Pay Based on Your Experience & Education:

• High School or Associate’s Degree: $17.05 – $23.00 per hour
• Master’s Degree (ABA, Psychology, Special Education): $18.00 – $24.00 per hour.
