Under the guidance and supervision of the BCBA, the Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) will support the BCBA in the care of identified patients. The RBT will provide instruction and training, assist in developing skills and help implement behavior intervention plans. The RBT will provide support to the nursing staff caring for the patient and offer suggestions/strategies for effective behavior management while on the unit.
Licensure or other certifications: Registered Behavior Technician certification
Educational Requirements: High School Diploma or GED
Minimum Experience: 2 years of Mental Health Tech/RBT experience

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Demonstrates ability to work with diverse cultural and age-specific populations.
Knowledge of best practices and ability to utilize Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) teaching.
Organization skills and effective time management.
Assist BCBA in administering assessments such as functional behavior assessments.
Provide quality 1:1 instruction to identified patients/families.
Provide education and support to clinical team members.
Implement behavior intervention plans.
Prepare all teaching materials, note cards, data sheets and reinforces.
Complete all documentation in a timely manner.
Collect data to assist in the development or updating of a behavior intervention plan.
Assist patients with skill acquisition programs.
Assist patient with Activities of Daily Living.
