Job Overview:

The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) provides direct one-on-one therapy to individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), using Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) techniques. This role requires working closely with a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to implement behavior intervention plans, collect data, and contribute to the overall progress of the individual’s therapeutic goals. We are seeking a bilingual RBT to communicate effectively with our Spanish speaking families.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Implement ABA Therapy: Provide direct therapy to clients based on individual treatment plans designed by a BCBA, using evidence-based techniques such as reinforcement, prompting, and teaching functional skills.
  2. Data Collection & Analysis: Collect data on client behavior, progress, and responses to interventions. Maintain accurate and timely records of therapy sessions.
  3. Behavioral Intervention: Assist in managing challenging behaviors through safe and effective behavioral interventions as outlined in treatment plans.
  4. Client Progress Monitoring: Track and report client progress regularly to BCBAs and supervisors, providing necessary updates on any changes or challenges encountered during sessions.
  5. Collaboration: Work closely with families, caregivers, and other team members to ensure the implementation of consistent behavior interventions across various settings.
  6. Training: Participate in ongoing training and development related to ABA principles and interventions, as well as compliance with ethical standards and legal requirements.

Qualifications:

  1. Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; some positions may require a college degree in psychology, education, or a related field.
  2. Certification: RBT certification from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) is a plus but not a requirement.
  3. Experience: Prior experience in a behavior analysis setting or working with children/adults with autism or other developmental disabilities is preferred.
  4. Skills: Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to work collaboratively with a team. Comfortable working with individuals with behavioral and developmental challenges. Ability to collect and organize data efficiently.
  5. Physical Requirements: Must be able to engage in physical activity (e.g., lifting, sitting on the floor, standing) and may be required to implement behavior management techniques when necessary.

Work Environment:

This role typically involves working in home, school, clinic, or community settings. Travel may be required based on client needs.
