Job Objectives:
The Registered Behavior Technician/Teaching Assistant (RBT) will support staff at our Ventures Academy and Ventures II alternative school programs. The RBT will assist in applying applied behavior analytics for student educational programming and support the implementation of behavior plans developed by teachers and BCBA supervisors. The RBT will work under close supervision of a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma
  • Valid Ohio Department of Education Permit appropriate for the position
  • Successful completion and maintenance of RBT certification
  • Clear criminal record in compliance with state statutes
  • Adherence to drug-free workplace policies
  • Self-motivated with ability to learn required skills
  • Physical ability to manage students with disabilities
  • Ability to cope with stressful conditions such as traffic, weather, and distractions

Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

  • Apply principles of applied behavior analysis to develop and support student behavior plans
  • Model best practices and refine evidence-based strategies
  • Provide professional development to staff
  • Support community and school partnerships
  • Promote inclusive education in the least restrictive environment
  • Collect data to support behavior plan implementation
  • Maintain confidentiality and respect privacy

  • Perform other duties as directed by the Superintendent or designee

Conduct:
Staff must remain free of alcohol or non-prescribed controlled substances during employment.

Terms of Employment:
Staff serve as role models and help instill ethical principles and democratic values in students. Maintaining proper certification and licensure is the employee's responsibility.

Salary:
Commensurate with experience
