Galaxy ABA Therapy in Virginia is seeking a part-time Behavior Technician to work in clients' homes. You will implement ABA plans, collect data, and communicate with families under supervision. A 40-hour BACB RBT training and a high school diploma are required; Spanish skills are valued.

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate behavioral technician to join our team. Behavior technicians are responsible for assisting behavior analysts by implementing behavior reduction and skill acquisition treatment plans that are largely child-led and play-based.We want our clients to have fun, play, and look forward to therapy. The candidate will work one-on-one with clients and parentsin their home, monitor behavior, record and collect data on progress, and communicate with supervisors, clients, and their families.
Behavior techniciansmust be able to travel to client's homes. This is ahome serviceposition.
To be successful in this role, you will display professionalism, attention to detail, empathy, and discretion in your work. You should have strong communication (written and oral) and time management skills, as well as be able to develop and maintain professional relationships with clients, supervisors, and colleagues. Prior experience in a behavioral health setting is preferred.
Provide direct service to clients in a one-on-one settingin their homesby implementing skill acquisition and behavior reduction treatments as directed by the supervisor
Maintain punctuality while commuting to and from the client's homes for therapy sessions.
Collect and record data on client behavior
Complete required paperwork and documentation (e.g., session notes, time sheets)
Collaborate, communicate and assist with the training of clients, parents, and staff
Provide a safe and supportive environment for clients and their families
Maintain strict confidentiality
Attend training to acquire further knowledge
Follow all agency policies and procedures
Minimum of high school diploma and completion of 40-hour training program that will qualify applicant for Registered Behavior Technician designation by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB)
Must be physically fit enough to work with children in various settings, sitting on the floor or at a table for long periods, able to run after/lift clients that may be entering unsafe areas/situations, and similar (See Essential Functions)
Good written and verbal communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Must submit completion of required CPR, mandated reporter, and HIPAA trainings (provided by Galaxy ABA)
Must submit negative TB test results
Must be found eligible for hire via FBI, CPS, and State of Virginia background checks
Must be able tocommuteto and from the client's home
Must be able to communicate inSpanish
Must have the ability to lift 40 pounds to a height of 1 to 3 feet
Must be able to move about the client's home, playground, or other natural environment in order to play/engage in therapy with the child
Must be able to run after a child who elopes into an unsafe area
Must be able to operate a computer or other technology (e.g., tablet)
Must be able to ascend/descend stairs/ladders to engage children in gross motor activities
Must be able to position self on the floor to engage with children during floor activities
