What will your day look like as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)

  • Registered Behavior Technician (RBTs) teaches individuals with autism to talk, play, make friends, and function independently, while helping reduce any inappropriate behaviors.
  • Collect data to demonstrate each client’s progress toward reaching his or her goals!
  • Document by using our electronic data collection software for real time analysis.
  • Collaborate in clinical team meetings to report client progress and get specific feedback from the supervisor.
  • Rest Assured you will be trained in various ABA methods by our top-notch clinicians.

What will you do as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)

  • RBTs provide intensive one-on-one therapy to children with ASD.
  • Implement behavior acquisition and behavior reduction plans.
  • Conduct stimulus preference assessments.
  • Collect data.
  • Maintain client's program book.
  • Develop/create teaching materials.
  • Provide basic care to the clients (e.g., toileting, eating)
  • Discuss client's daily progress with parents/caretakers.
  • Work with BCBA to implement individualized goals and checklists.
  • Maintain respect and confidentiality for all clients.
  • Maintain and protect the well-being of all clients.
  • Maintain technical and professional knowledge with continuing education.

Requirements For Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Travel up to 20 miles from home to client service location.
  • Valid/unexpired RBT Certification if offered RBT role. (BTs may be considered for role: the hourly rate will be lower)
  • Previous experience working with children; ASD experience is strongly preferred.
  • Reliability- ability to work a consistent schedule throughout the week.
  • Access to a reliable vehicle or public transportation
  • To complete the physical demands of the job (frequent sitting and standing, sitting on and getting up from the floor, kneeling, bending, and running with children) you must be able to: Stand and move for at least 75% of the day; lift, push, pull up to 40 pounds.

  • Hourly rate depends on education, experience with children, experience in the ABA field as BT/RBT, certification as a RBT, current confirmed BCBA student, etc.
