About Siskin Children's Institute

For over 70 years, Siskin Children’s Institute (SCI) has been a leading non-profit provider for children with special needs! We are one of only a few multidisciplinary developmental pediatric clinics in Tennessee where a team of developmental pediatricians, medical staff, psychologists, therapists, behavior analysts, and RBTs work together to provide cohesive treatment in a supportive, nurturing environment.

GENERAL POSITION OVERVIEW

SCI RBTs provide direct 1:1 home-based therapy to children with autism or other developmental or intellectual disabilities. RBTs must be able to work a flexible schedule Monday-Friday that includes some evening appointments.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

At least 18 years old and have, at minimum, completed high school national equivalent. Must already maintain the RBT Certification set forth by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB). The RBT certification requirements include ongoing supervision and complying with the BACB’s RBT Ethics Code.

Must maintain a valid driver’s license. Must be CPR and First Aid certified.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Knowledge of early childhood and autism assessment tools and procedures, and child development.
  • Experience implementing positive behavior support plans and programs written by the BCBA.
  • Knowledge of current methods and techniques of applied behavior analysis and discrete trial training.
  • Comply with the RBT Ethics Code.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with patients, parents, and professionals.
  • Basic computer skills and be able to use all required software.
  • Respect for cultural diversity and capability of adapting ABA procedures to that diversity.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Provide direct behavior therapy to young children diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder in home, school, and/or clinical settings.
  • Implement, under the supervision of a BCBA, behavioral interventions based on client’s needs and current research.
  • Provide appropriate feedback to parents and/or teachers under the direction of the supervising BCBA.
  • Work in a team to facilitate optimal care and exceptional outcomes for patients.
