Role Overview

The Behavior Technician (BT) or Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) plays a vital role in supporting individuals with autism. Using proven techniques from Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), the BT works one-on-one with children to reduce, redirect, and eliminate challenging behaviors. This role significantly impacts the child's ability to communicate and develop life skills, as well as strengthens family connections.

Position Responsibilities
  • Deliver one-on-one ABA therapy in various settings (home, school, community)
  • Implement individualized treatment plans created by a BCBA
  • Collect data and document session details
  • Engage in training and team meetings
  • Collaborate with supervisors and colleagues
  • Address areas such as language, social skills, daily living, maladaptive behaviors, safety, toilet training, and executive functioning
Minimum Requirements
  • Willingness to travel to client locations
  • Experience working with children or related fields (paraprofessional, special education, childcare, etc.)
  • Preferred: experience with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 18 years old
  • Completion of the 40-hour RBT training or willingness to complete within 30 days
  • Effective communication skills
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license
  • Clear criminal background and child abuse checks
